Silmet S.r.l. takes great care in the selection of raw material to ensure the quality of the manufacturing process right from the start.

Every batch of material is checked thoroughly during the acceptance phase to ensure compliance with the required specifications, guaranteeing high quality standards and production continuity.

We mainly use steels like S235 and S355, particularly for the key components of our core business, such as chassis structures and base frames.

For applications requiring high mechanical performance, such as safety components—particularly stabiliser arms—we use high-strength steels ranging from S690 to S1100, which enable us to produce lighter, stronger and higher-performance structures, while optimising the use of the material.

Based on decades of experience, pickled raw material is used for components requiring a watertight seal, especially tanks, while sandblasted sheet metal is preferred for exposed components, in response to specific requests from the majority of our customers seeking a higher aesthetic standard.

The raw material is sourced from qualified suppliers and comes with certificates, ensuring complete traceability throughout the entire production cycle.

Thanks to efficient supply chain management and a constant stock of materials, Silmet S.r.l. is able to respond quickly and flexibly to its customers’ various needs, even when requests for earlier than scheduled delivery are made at short notice.
